The departing CEO, during his debut presentation, said he would turn appen into more than just a labour hire firm, into a real tech stock.
None of that happened, in his AGM in May, he went on and on about labour hire, saying "programmers build software, but in this new age of LLMs, humans are the new programmers", first red flag. Then in the august report, he said "humans are still needed for generative AI", second red flag.
Unless this Ryan guy can show some real strategy that's not than human labour, I remain highly skeptical of a potential turnaround. It's clear what they're doing is not working, doing the same thing over and over again thinking this time will be different
