Not quite true. She was between a rock and a hard place and had to make some very difficult decisions.
All is not what it seems but in my view she has done an excellent job. I would venture to say, even with what happened on the border with Bangladesh she would still have followers down there.
However, this discussion will not reopen the mine and in my opinion, unless the Tatmadaw make some unbelievable concessions this is likely to drag out for some time and it will unfortunately get worse before it gets better.
Here's hoping for a left field early agreement!!
