The transition to renewable fuels for industry is going to take a lot longer than the move to electric cars. What we have also seen recently is the price of thermal coal increasing as the cost of petroleum fuel increase, as this is the main fuel for power generation in many countries. CO2 is also a large emission during the manufacture of concrete. What this all means is that CC is still very much needed by industry, and when available will also allow older coal fired power stations (which includes nearly all large power stations in Australia) to remain viable. With this technology they will not have to shutdown and develop expensive base load power alternatives to support the grid, which means that governments will support this technology. Suggesting that CC is not an attractive technology for industry and governments sounds like downramping to me.
