Yes, hate the red too. I'm okay with emotions though. I use them as information, not decision events. For me, emotions occur rapidly. So I use them as an early warning signal. Then apply reason and logic to review assumptions or new information. So for Wellard, as you say, use "holy$#@$" emotions to trigger reasoning for "still weighing and formulating a strategy".
