Thumbs up from me for a well written post with realistic view.
When I sold a my large holding at .005c I was extremely concerned that SD would become a bonanza and VIL SP would rocket back to say 3 to 5c. Were that to occur, my decision to sell my entire holding would have been costly. Conversly, I was more concerned that VIL situation would degenerate to the state it is now in and I would salvage only 20% of what I did, or, even worse, there would be no bidders at any price. The risk of losing all was greater than the risk of losing a potential profit.
In view of your advice re potential tax losses, I am so glad I bit the bullet and sold.
Tough lesson, I tell you.
