All I can say is ... Ouch!!
Today's sell off seems odd though. Anyone with 15 million shares to sell must know that Christmas Eve is not the best time to get a decent price for them. What's the rush?
It would have to be a forced sale, or a fund manager with some advance information (i.e. insider trading).
Sure there are some issues around the funding, but they seem minor. The market for REEs remains intact. LYC won't be producing anyway for another 12 months, at least, so by then the recession will be over, and we'll be back in growth.
Actually, judging by the shopping malls in Brisbane here, we're back in growth already. I've NEVER seen it this busy before, even at our small, local mall, not a carpark to be had - very, very unusual, even for Christmas.
What can one do? Close your eyes, and rest assured that 2009 will be better than 2008.
