Article in Street Talk in AFR mentions that Rothschild has been given the mandate to divest the becks, stella artois and cider brands so that Asahi can buy CUB.
Doubts on whether they can offload to Lion (Owned by Kirin). Article says that would leave Coopers. No mention of GRB - do any of the GRB followers know the production capacity of coopers vs gage?
Article ends with a suggestion Rothschild will likely do some market research on the sector and potential future opportunities to shop around beer brands.
i cant see how Gage could take on any of the portfolio with its current capital, nor do I see them being able to arrange finance to do the deal (or even appetite for that matter). Not sure id support a Cap raise to do it either.
