And the biggest cost inhibitors for gold producers is OPEX costs... chemicals... it isn't cheap at all to use so much chemicals to free the contained gold in ore.. as you need a lot of cyanide, and other chemicals depending on the other impurities in the ore.. wages are bugger all gold has always paid the lowest wages in mining history... purely because of high Operating costs... to extract the gold... But hey.. don't take it from me who has spent years doing it...
