Something to be aware of the media.... one of their purposes is to provide a mechanism to 'leak' information.

Politicians for example are masters of this type of operation.

Sometimes people leak because they want to send a message without break the law. Sometimes to attract people, sometimes to push people away, sometimes to drive an agenda. Just think of our politicians and the crap that goes on, on an almost daily basis, many times what is leaked is not even true! Companies can use such tactics for their advantage as well.

For example the leak could be a way of sending a message to GXY or any other party out there that a deal is being done. It provides an opportunity for someone else to get involved and take action.

That is why sometimes stories do not play out as reported. The intention is simply to get a message out there and then game on and anything can happen.

As I mentioned a few days back, lets be very careful what we wish for. We live in interesting times.
