The article backs up what you said about vehicle to grid (V2G) electricity being better utilised.

It will mean we will have to install bi-directional chargers but they cost a lot less than a power wall battery. This is probably the reason Elon has been reluctant to include V2G capability into Tesla.

The good news is, other car companies will be, eg Ford and Volkswagen have already planned for it, others will follow.

The author says that by 2025, he expects V2G will become commonplace.

While stationary batteries in the home might decline, EVs should flourish.
