Imo, I see BASF as a possible future suitor for LPD. The timelines set by LPD for production and commercialization of its suite of hydrometallurgical processes may dovetail nicely with BASF Catalyst Business. LPD's progress is also not too dissimilar to the Activox story, another hydrometallurgical nickel extraction processes (developed by GJ and MD of LPD's second largest shareholder) and acquired in the Norilsk takeover of LionOre back in June 2007.
