LG Chem are one of the battery suppliers for Tesla.
I recall from Tesla's presentations leading up to or on battery day there was a slide that mentioned halloysite being used or something along those lines. Can't seem to find the actuall slide but i know I'm not crazy because even James Marsh references the same thing here in this snippet of and interview with TCN last year:
