I have used Iridium Go! before in the middle of nowhere and it is OK but you still need to get in range for the satellite.
So you might have to walk up a hill, get away from trees etc
So while it is not a 'wonder product' by any means, it's still solid and I would think it's worth paying for (my company was paying for mine)
Not too sure how it stacks up to competitors like CDA but no one seems to use Codan phones these days anyway. Too expensive? Not sure.
