Looks like the sugar hit is over and the veneer is already peeling off the Medicxi and Starpharma announcement.
Punters belatedly coming to the realisation that Starpharma have given away valuable intellectual property to venture capitalists for free, in exchange for a minority stake in a small private overseas company, controlled by others, that may or may not be worth something in the future.
So if this business model is so wonderful, I’m guessing any future deals for our 3 DEP candidates or deals arising from the research agreements with Merck etc (if they ever eventuate) will see the drug put into a private company, with no licence fee and no milestone payments in the hope that years later things will turn out well. Yes?
