Yeah still plenty of gross short sales in the ASX gross short sales report from 21 Jul to 25th. For 21/22 to make it comparable, just under 6M of gross sales tagged as short. We don't know the covers though and my guess is that there was probably a little more covering than shorting.
The net loaned/net borrowed data only goes to 22 Jul and is published on a settled position basis rather than traded date, so we won't know what happened for another day or two. If someone has a subscription to IHS Markit or similar then they would probably be able to know by now.
