Presumably it's the vehicle emission standards process. There has been an ongoing consultation process for a few years now. IIRC the Coalition wanted to delay until 2027 but the present Government has issued a final consultation paper with responses due early March preempting their favoured position that new standards should be phased in from 1st January 2025. Some say this is too soon. So if that is what it is about then the next step after consultation would be the Government announcing their final position then starting the process to get legislation through Parliament. Apparently Dutton has been visiting car yards lately.
