$10 NST in a few years isn't out of the realm of possibility as the price of gold isn't simply a supply and demand issue.

There is a connection to Yen and carry trade that has been explained elsewhere, and there is/was a strong US M2 money supply correlation before the Central/Bullion/Treasury banks or whoever decided POG must be hammered severely.   If the M2 correlation was allowed to be maintained the Gold would be around $1,600 USD today.

And in the future the AUD price of gold has the capacity to set some records.  The AUD after 9/11 did dip down into 0.47 US and after 2008 it did get to 0.60 AND if it wasn't for Aust Govt strong and early response to the financial crisis would have gone lower, ALSO if China hadn't also decided to go to massive money printing the AUD would also sunk a whole lot lower. AS it is now China has significant economic problems only just being admitted, and a whole heap more to come. An AUD back in the 0.50 is a real possibility, we have been there twice before.

But since 2008 we have seen Europe and USA also print trillions with little positive flow through effect on the economy and now the Fed has been talking Negative rates NRIP, and also getting rid of the USD $100 bill and the 500 euro bill. There are indications then that banks and economies in deep trouble, this will cause a supply and demand problem for gold, since we also know the ration of gold sold to actually existing/supporting the contracts on COMEX trading is more than 100:1

So then we may have a perfect storm brewing, and it is a matter of orders of magnitude what it could be.

Gold allowed to get its head, the AUD reacting to a contracting China and failing SE Asia can easily see AUD gold go a whole lot higher.  And with people looking for safe places to put their money NST would look very attractive.
