If the updates are good it wouldn't be a bad idea to push out the announcements just after close today. That will give the market time to absorb the information and potentially some coverage from journalists over the weekend.

If it's not coming today a simple update would be good for holders so they aren't watching screens all day to mitigate issues mentioned above. I too have see stocks come out of suspension midday and been in meetings/offline and not been able to respond.
