I've got a Toyota hybrid and it has two drive modes, "D" for normal operation which uses the generator, not the engine, for dynamic braking. It also has a "B" mode where it reverts to normal engine braking, I assume for spirited driving on winding roads.
Turns out my SIL has the same car and said that the salesman said it was for "battery" mode and not to use it. Didn't believe me. LOL
