The whole idea of using halloysite to manufacture cheap carbon nanotubes which could be used to capture CO2 has been proven to work. It has been done before.
The idea of converting captured CO2 into methanol has been tested and proven to be working on a reasonably large scale.
There are quite a few papers and test reports on both of these concepts being tested and working.
The BS was that this cane be done in economically feasible way, never mind the target of $20 per ton of CO2 or that it could be some sort of closed fuel cycle.
