From a short perspective I think there is genuine buying and volume lately. The short percentage has traveled sideways mostly with the SP first dropping then jumping last week.
The days to cover dropped a bit due to higher volumes but has still been on an uptrend which says to me that short pressure has not changed very much while volumes were low.
So investment is increasing in my opinion and may be so in preparation for a positive catalyst.
