still on the rise
LONDON, May 18 (Reuters) - The Baltic Exchange's main sea
freight index <.BADI>, which tracks rates to ship dry commodities, hit a fresh 2009 high on Monday with activity focused on China's demand for goods.
The index, which gauges the cost of shipping resources including iron ore, cement, grain, coal and fertiliser, rose 2.4 percent to 2,605 points on Monday from 2,544 on Friday, which had been the previous high recorded this year.
