New treatments not a threat?
Lots of companies developing cures for cancer, most if not all are some way off commercialisation and still have to demonstrate safety and effectiveness to get FDA approval. Collectively the effect must be to possibly temper the value of deals for any given drug. It also must motivate big pharmas to seek the best of the new drugs because the existing drugs they have wont be able to compete.
