An interesting opinion and one to consider carefully. I also remember recently reading that Chinese small business owners are accumulating copper because the price of gold has gone beyond their reach. If you read into the Bloomberg article ( http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=aAid0.8z1qBs&pos=6 ) this may be why the output exceeded demand in 2009.
