The thing is, our statemen/diplomats media/historians/journalists lie because they have no respect for other countries. Other countries are there to be conquered.

Bill Clinton famously said of Yeltsin, after years of convincing Soviets to dissolve the Warsaw Pact in return for economic integration and a pan Euro security architecture,

"we keep telling ol' Boris; OK, now here's what you've got to do next, Here's some more sheet for your face"

And that lack of respect is the basis for how we write their histories.
