Below is the an extract of from the 7.30 report which reveals ZNO does not have TGA approval and only cosmetic product classification....Hmmmmmmm...wonder who has the better formula now....waiting on the 'SE formula TM' labelling....sorry to say but looks like better SKN will be better than ZNO subject to next announcement...might be time to make the switch


Extract from ABC 7.30 report

It was subsequently changed to read: "Zafe Zone is powered by ZOONO Z-71, an industrial-strength surface protectant that lasts for prolonged periods on hard surfaces. Latest testing has confirmed 99.99 per cent effectiveness of Zafe Zone's surface sanitisers against Coronavirus."

The company's legal representative, Mills Oakley partner Brendan Taylor, said in a statement: "In the course of dealing with the queries you have raised, our client has become aware that some things said on its website need to be clarified or amended and, accordingly, it has effected changes to its website."

Zafe Zone also said in a written response: "Zafe Zone's hand sanitiser product (which for all intents and purposes is Zoono's hand sanitiser product) is classified as a 'cosmetic' product and does not require TGA approval. Zafe Zone's hand sanitiser contains the same active ingredients as Zoono Z-71 (the surface sanitiser) but in lower concentrations and is not dangerous or harmful when used on skin."

The manufacturer of the hand sanitiser, Zoono Group, said in a statement: "We were alerted to content relating to our brands on the Zafe Zone website and we sent a request for changes to be made / for the website to become compliant."

Following 7.30's investigation, on Friday the TGA announced it had fined Zafe Zone's trading company Italian Princess Coffee Brands $39,960 for advertising claims it had made related to COVID-19 and its disinfectant product.

"Promoting disinfectants that have not been subjected to the TGA's regulatory framework has the potential to put the public at risk," Professor Skerritt said.

A Zafe Zone spokesperson said: "Zafe Zone is proudly an Australian business that is helping meet the growing needs of local commercial businesses during the Coronavirus pandemic.

"Zafe Zone is considering its legal options in relation to the TGA's infringement notices."

A separate Melbourne company also received $37,800 in fines for its advertising of Zafe Zone products.
