Argentina with 128 reported cases and 45 million people have just put the whole country in lockdown
California with 40 million people have gone into complete lockdown
Saudi Arabia have cancelled all public transport (including taxis) for a minimum of 14 days
The UK has now shut schools and stopped the London Underground
The curve is not flattening in Australia we are doubling every 3 or so days. More should have been done already and more could be done right now.
We have the same number of cases with similar daily increases as Italy had 3 weeks ago.
History may not be kind to us and our she'll be right attitude. If I've been able to track and accurately predict the trend with grade 7 maths over the past 2 months our medical experts and leaders no doubt have been able too also.
Given our peak now looks likely to be sharp and not flat our medical system will almost certainly not cope.
What individuals need to do is a self risk assessment and determine if they can afford to catch this during the peak period coming. If they decide they cannot they should probably consider similar measures to the 12 weeks self isolation being mandated to at risk groups in the UK at the moment.
Be safe everyone - right now I'm praying for a miracle.
