I think the main issue they have had is the cost of energy globally. Whilst there may be a shortage of kaolin around the world I'm betting our high price expectations do not work due to the rise in energy costs for manufactures to make a margin.
I know of a large number bottle manufactures in Europe who have been making glass for 100 years who have shutdown due to the energy prices for example.
