I'm still puzzled by this situation.
Exactly what issue prompted MT to resign. Was it a broad philosophical difference with the BoD or was it a specific item of strategy that could not be agreed upon? Did the BoD feel that MT was posing a threat to the financial welfare of PAA? Perhaps they could not accept that eggs must be broken to make an omelette? We simply don't know.
MT had a defined plan and was placing all the building blocks in place for a blockbuster outcome.
I feel that shareholders are owed a swift response by the BoD to explain their side of the story, and how they plan to achieve a beneficial outcome going forward. Continued silence will undoubtedly see a spill of the Board sooner rather than later.
In a recent post my sentiment was "keep calm and carry on". However, yesterday's developments have caused me to re-consider. We need the Board and the Executive team all pulling in the same direction to present a united front to the wider market.
