✅Viraleze cost if approved c $15 for 10 days prevention individual/famiky/community transmission and treatment - script if GP considers beneficial to patient 2 months supply $90 - PBS patient contribution $31.60 or concession $7.70
The economics of supplying regular nasal nasal spray medication for those more vulnerable in the Community may well lead to consideration of a proven effective antiviral nasal spray Viraleze being listed on PBS. EXAMPLE: Like Nexium in 40gm dose is PBS with 2 monthly commonwealth authorisation but Nexium 20gm is available on pharmacy shelf.
Where patients have specific needs then PBS coverage is appropriate

✅After peer review publication of the UK NHS placebo treatment expected by late June 2024 - using Viraleze for over 45yr olds may well be a PBS treatment where just a single 7 day treatment costs $15 but to concession holder $7.70 or preventative for immunocompromised or elderly individual
