In addition to looking for data on who has already had the virus and might have immunity, it seems to me antibody tests, particularly if they could be done from home, could also be very effective in detecting positive cases - if the testing regime included the potential for two tests to be done.
At the moment the antibody tests can easily miss someone who is positive if they are tested in the early stages of the illness and have yet to develop many antibodies. But if that person was tested again say 10 days later, the second test would be much more likely to pick up the antibodies, and the sick person could then be quarantined.
Has anybody seen this idea of a double home testing system to detect positive cases being discussed anywhere?
