I am just a punter that does my research and acts on what is in front of me. I like to base my decisions on FACTS and not on pie in the sky fantasy outcomes.
In the case of SPL (one of my first ever forays into the share market) I am the first to admit that my research was not good enough and I placed too much trust in some of the forward-looking statements in a number of SPL announcements over the past decade.
Because of this trust, I have lost a decent % of my initial investment in SPL. I use this company as my lesson learned when it comes to information that is released to market in 'positive' market sensitive announcements. You need to read between the lines and find the cold hard facts.
The biggest wake up moment for me with SPL was when I really read the disclaimer that they include in all of their announcements.
