FYI - Broome to PLS site is approx. 700 k.s a long distance for a cyclone @ 12ks an hour to get to and like an asthmatic marathon runner, it looks like it will run out of puff long before getting to the finish line ;-)

Existing Cyclones in the Western Region:

Tropical Cyclone Hilda at 5am WST Thursday 28 December was located near 19.1S 121.7E, about 140 kilometres south southwest of Broome and moving south southwest 12 kilometres per hour. Refer to the latest tropical cyclone warnings for further details [www.bom.gov.au/cyclone].

The system is likely to weaken below tropical cyclone strength today as it moves further inland. There is a slight chance it takes a more westward track over water and may still be a tropical cyclone early Friday morning before heading back over land.
