In case you didn't know, the reason you got more than you put your sell order in for (18.5) was because your trade would have gone thru Chi-X, which does trades at mid-points e.g. in your case @ 18.75 half-way between 18.5 & 19.0, the next ASX-trade value level. You said 18.7, because from your post's broker's tables you'll notice that the field width is only designed to provide a buy or sell price with up to 3 decimal points of a $, not 4.

You would have been luckier still if there were no CHi-X buyers ordering at all! (some times a likely event) in which case you'd have got the alternative 19.0 from an ASX buyer, assuming there were some.
