Thanks afternoon crew. Have a great weekend, all.
End-of-day summary:
The share market logged its lowest close in two weeks after the threat of delayed interest rate cuts triggered heavy falls on Wall Street overnight.
The ASX 200 dropped 44 points or 0.56% this afternoon to 7773. The index's third fall in four sessions sealed a weekly loss of 124 points or 1.57%.
Tech stocks, small caps and iron ore miners led the selling. Gold miners shielded the index from a heavier loss.
Wall Street's struggles this week intensified after a central bank official suggested elevated inflation readings could deny the market the three rate cuts priced in to the market before year-end. The Dow dived 1.35% to a fourth straight loss. The S&P 500 gave up 1.23%.
