    This date, January 20, is oddly popular for celebrating national heroes. Nations as far apart as Cabo Verde, Azerbaijan and Guinea-Bissau all hold public holidays today in honour of their heroes and martyrs. Mali celebrates Army Day. Cabo Verde appears to have the best brekky options, so let's take a seat by the pool at the Hilton.
