I5 is perfectly fine for what your doing because you would have win7 if u have an i5. If your running win7 you need at least 4gb of ram for seamless running on that os. If your running slow then check your services and startup. Executables in startup slow down your machine as does needless services running. The latest Internet explorer version works slot quicker than previous versions but I suggest Mozilla firefox. Also any trading apps like westpac use java so get the latest update. In addition the latest microsft updates have sped up a lot of process' so make sure u get them. Antivirus should be sophos less intensive. Internet adsl would be fine or a service of at least 10-14 mb up or down.
