to me (and im no professional) the reason the banks are off loading now is that for the first time in a long time there is actually someone willing to buy it. This may be because the hedge funds are seeing value in CNP in light of the recent interest shown for their assets.
The banks are more interested to have centro off their books mainly because they need to be more prudent.
Just my thoughts.
