I have been pondering how posters like CJ could be discouraged to continue with their unwelcome nonsense. It would be interesting if HotCopper (and similar forums) applied strategies to rid their boards of worthless posters, such as –
1. Added a feature that shows posters how few people read their posts:
"Only three people have read this post".
2. Added a feature that shows posters how many people are ignoring them:
"You are being ignored by 2,000 posters."
3. Set a threshold and banned posters when they triggered the "Vexatious Poster" limit:
"You have been banned from HotCopper due to community consent that your posts are worthless."
Maybe through my posting this "wish list" to HotCopper it might then catch the attention of HotCopper's management for consideration!
