The chain is so long I do not think you could ever know for sure where REE came from. If you knew for sure It had Japanese magnets then maybe a little but even these use primarily China REE because Lynas production can not keep up with Japan's Demand.
18 ~ 24 months from now we will know GM is using all of MP's product because they will own a part of MP's metals and manufacturing plant in Texas. The name plate of this plant says it will only supply a fraction of what I expect GM will need at that time for magnets.
The chain is so long I do not think you could ever know for sure...
