i read your link twice. They list pretty accurately what is important to both US and China. Not one mention of REE! If you think REE is even going to be mentioned, you are way too focused on REE. JMO discussions will be on Tawain's future and how to deescalate the constant close encounters by militaries in the China Sea. REE will not even be a back room discussion by aids. These two things could absolutly start a major war if someone slips just a little. That would mean Us was involved in 3 wars. Think what might happen if any of the following 3 happen.
A us Flight strays into China's air space and is shot down.
A Chinese fighter is intimidating a US aircraft and they collide because US pilot does not do what the Chinese pilot thinks. Or US shots down the Plane.
China violates Taiwan's airspace again and some trigger happy person shoots down a couple of the Chinese planes.
On economic front China is having problems. Most of the international Currency reserves in China are US bounds. To raise Money China starts selling US treasuries faster than the WW market can absorb them. This starts an economic war that ultimately could be worse for both countries than a shooting war.
I am sure Chinas support for Russia especially in the UN where they have used their veto to stop things that will hurt Russia will be way ahead of REE.
When you think Bidden and XI will talk about REE do you even think about What both countries are doing in the world or is your focus only on REE.
