With regards to funds. If I was on a bus from Melbourne to Sydney, to see the spectacular harbour, and the driver got to Canberra and then said we all need to pay another $10 each for fuel. To get us to Sydney. Even if I knew there was a risk of having to fork out another $10 for fuel at Bass Hill, to ensure we get to the glorious Sydney harbour, I aint gonna get off at Canberra!!
First thing I'd want to know is, why the hell are you going through Canberra?
But on a more serious note, your analogy is a little misleading, if it were just a matter of sitting on the bus and waiting to get there, then why not take a seat? I think it's more akin to watching Cliff Young jogging from Sydney to Melbourne. You never quite know if he's gonna make it or have a cardiac on the way.
