Sorry to create a storm in a tea cup. The reason I ask the question is that about a year ago I saw some stock went ex-dividend on Friday, but 4 days before ie. Monday the share price dropped significantly. I thought it was a bargain and bought in.
It turned out that the last date to get the dividend was the previous Friday. I was told it took a weekend for the share to be listed on the register.
Therefore my concern.
