Actually, come to think of it - as I said, I agree that it *seems* more responsible, but if afterpay users suddenly have to do credit applications the exodus from the platform will be pretty severe.
DOU as a product is already linked to users bank statements, and so their customer base is people who inherently accept that the company they've signed up with is analysing their spending habits and income. Adding BNPL is a feature they want added to a product they already accept.
The question for APT's success in this is going to be how much of the existing client base will accept the new terms of trade, ie, let us check to see if we think you can afford this.
