Just saw a documentary of how the Snowy Mountain Scheme was built.
It was probably the most complicated project ever carried out in Australia
and was a brilliant outcome and a great result for Australia
and that was 60-70 years ago!

It was built with pride, passion and hard work

Now we have companies like John Holland that are Chinese
and Lend Lease has just sold a large chunk of its construction business to the Spanish
and these are the types of companies we depend on to build our infrastructure

They are just in it for the bucks and the governments are in it for the votes
and the pride and passion have become a thing of the past

Hence we have outcomes like the West Gate Tunnel coppa
