I think you are missing the point I was making above - in the real world most of us get the fact that people use gas, cars , computers, phones etc and they all come with ethical and environmental baggage. We all make individual choices and realistically the ethical / environmental choice of regarding a phone is phone or no phone not Apple or Nokia. Some of us also try to pressure our governments to make strategic policy which looks beyond the electoral cycle because that is how things *might* improve. Trying to get politicians to agree that fracking is damaging to our short to medium term climate change mitigation obligations here in the U.K. is just one of those areas. Maybe it is paradoxical that I have to use a computer containing rare earth minerals to do that - funny old world isn't it? I am not being pious - I just have certain red lines which may to you be inconsistent but which make sense to me - we probably don't agree but that is the essence of debate isn't it?
If it brings you comfort that a critic of fracking uses a computer, a phone, a car and central heating I am happy for you, but then I suspect that you are not really understanding why so many people here in the U.K. oppose this industry. Perhaps that explains why you are still investing in it?
