There appears to be a strong POV on this forum that Aussie Gold Stocks are very closely correlated with the POG. So why does a 1-2% change in the POG result in an 11% drop in EVN (and large % decreases in other Goldies)? Sure, the Quarterly could have been better and cost control is a concern, but 11%, really!! This would seem to be more about the behaviour of traders and funds running for the door when someone yells "fire" and not waiting to see if they can see or smell smoke. Who are the muppets prepared to sell their shares at a big discount just because others are, and who are these fund managers (or their algorithms) to think it's OK to just dump stock and destroy value for their clients (oh, that's right - the fundies are using someone else's money so it's not a problem and there are brokerage fees to be had to boot). I wonder what would happen the next time the POG moved 1% if no-one yelled "fire" or the muppets stopped for a moment to have a sniff? One can only wonder ...
