About RAB Capital
RAB Capital started trading in June 1999. RAB Capital was founded by Philip Richards and Michael Alen-Buckley and launched its first fund, RAB Europe Fund, in November 1999.

RAB Capital specialises in managing absolute return funds, often referred to as "hedge" funds.

Hedge funds represent an alternative to traditional debt and equity fund investments. Generally, their investment objective is to produce steady absolute returns on invested capital rather than to outperform a benchmark (e.g. an index or basket of similar funds). Unlike traditional 'long only' funds, hedge funds may use hedging strategies (e.g. short selling, options and futures) and leverage. Alternative investments constitute one of the fastest growing sectors of the investment management industry.

RAB Capital currently manages 15 single strategy Funds and two Multi-Strategy Funds above $100m and eleven further funds. The largest investment strategy, RAB Special Situations, is managed by Chief Executive Philip Richards. RAB Capital also provides advisory and distribution services within the hedge fund industry.
