I am also a long time pharmacist customer. Their group offerings, AMCAL and Guardian are still good. It is very difficult to change wholesalers and not change groups, and so there is a large cost to a pharmacist to change wholesaler, as rebranding is then needed.
Sigma's wholesale division is still competitive pricing wise, so there is no gain in changing, and I can't see API or Symbion going all out to buy customers loyalty as they would only face similar problems as Sigma does with the special offer to Gance group.
Pharmacy wholesaling is very low margin, and all PBS sales are pretty tightly price controlled by government.
So on reflection I don't see them losing large slabs of profitable customers. Gance may go, and good riddance, but another wholesaler would have to be very careful about offering them any deals, lest the same backlash happen to them.
At this stage the board should fall on its sword, Elmo must go, but Sigma will go on.
