Well for the average bloke going to the doc's is a case of, leg/arm is a funny shape, could be broken or I have this cut that looks like needs more than a band-aid. Having considered using duct tape
Not sure how you get to know who are good vets or money grabbing vets, touch wood I have only been to vets twice, once when for my dog to get it's first vaccination shot as a pup and next was to get micro chipped after the rangers finally caught him when he went off on a run on his own. LOL had not registered him and they have to be micro chipped apparently.
Daughter in law is a vet nurse so she would be my first call if need be
